Once again left later than intended. It takes a lot of time to get up, feed the guineas, clean their carrier, get dressed, and get all of us and our stuff back into the car. Got off of 101 and drove out to Highway 1 at Monterey.

Beaches looked suspiciously like Humboldt County ones, but a tad warmer.

I passed these everyday in Eureka, and never got a picture, so here's a picture...

Paid $9.50 to do the famous 17-mile drive, which was mostly stratus by the time I got up there so the views were pretty, but not as spectacular as I imagine they could be.

Cut back inland to 101. I would've loved to drive Highway 1 all the way to LA, but it would've taken way too much time.

US 101 follows the old El Camino Real (The Mission Route) for most of its journey from Southern to Central California. These bells mark its route.

Stopped for lunch at Pismo Beach.

Hit Santa Barabara in time for rush hour traffic, and Ventura/Oxnard around sunset. Rolled into Carson to stay with friends around 8 pm.
